Jump Jam

Every Tuesday and Thursday the seniors student run Jump Jam in the hall.

They love this and it really gets the children's heart rate up.

This is another way our senior children show their leadership across the school.

I took this shot at the prayer assembly on Monday. This was a moment where one of our little ones needed some support and comforting.

Senior students are called on for many things at St Dominic's and it is great to see that the  action of caring is another aspect of their leadership.

Parish AGM 2016

It is great to be able to share with the parish the major events in their calendar. Today was the parish AGM and  the school was asked to present a report, which we did.

A real celebration of all the different groups that make up our parish community.

Youth, Samoan, Liturgy all had reports along with the schools.

 

We are truly blessed to be lead by Father Tevaga and his faith leadership. Father Tevaga is also on our school BOT aging this year.

Today saw Room 2 sharing in a celebration., They had been learning all about friendship and what this means in the classroom and playground.

 

They shared with their families, what an I statement is and how they give each other complements.

They had a. big Rainbow cake which they loved.

Sounding out words

Natalie has been really learning her 'f' sound and today she has mastered it. 

Her speech teacher has said she has done so well and Natalie was able to clearly sound out words starting with 'f'

These three stars came in full of the wonders of being a writer today. Mrs S sent them across as they ahd persevered and stuck with the task. Their handwriting and joy of finishing was what we were celebrating.

As part of their learning this term the senior had to put together an independent project. The learning was all about Pre European life and here Estelle has created her very own Maori Pa.

 

Teachers read the Gospel

Every Monday morning a teacher has to share the Gospel that was read on the Sunday. This is the third tiem they would have heard the Word of God. They hear it on Friday before Sunday, they take it home to read with their parents, they may hear it on Sunday at mass and they will hear it on Monday at prayer assembly. This way Christ message gets through!
